Program Feature: Emergency Shelter

Our Walworth Street shelter program is available throughout the year. Our guests work toward housing and financial stability, with the support of staff 24 hours a day!

Support Offered:

  • Assistance accessing benefits

  • Resume writing & job applications

  • Independent daily living skills

  • Financial & household budgeting

  • Referrals for supportive services

  • Housing navigation

  • Rental & moving assistance

The program serves an average of 125 individuals each year and boasts a 70% successful graduation rate from shelter into permanent housing!

Both shelters will undergo substantial renovation in the coming year. Once completed, our availability expands to 31 beds.

Guest Features

"Don’t judge a book by its cover. I’ve met some good people that are just going through hard times. Also, some people who are still stuck in the loop, but it doesn't make a person 'bad'. I've missed a couple steps, but I have an opportunity to get myself back. And I’m actively trying to. I'm looking forward to being in a place where I can be comfortable enough to have my kids come visit me."

"Even when I don't know what's going on - there's someone else who does know. That's a good thing and it's helpful."
