Holiday Cheer at Our Shelters

The holiday season was filled with warmth, generosity, and a touch of festive fun at our shelters, thanks to the incredible support of our community and staff.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Saratoga Springs lovingly baked cookies for our guests, spreading joy and warmth year after year. This amazing group of 22 bakers outdid themselves again this year, creating 96 dozen cookies (over 1,100 cookies!) for our shelters! Some of these delicious treats were shared with our Outreach clients, who were so excited to receive a little extra holiday cheer.

Lisa & Ed Mitzen, co-founders of Business For Good, donated a delicious meal to our Code Blue shelter guests on Christmas Eve, spreading the joy of the season to those in need. On Christmas, Mike Stiles prepared a festive and hearty meal that brought smiles to everyone at our Walworth Street Shelter.

For the fourth year in a row, Carrie D’Angelo’s talented art students from Maple Avenue Elementary School decorated gift bags for our Walworth guests. On Christmas morning, we filled these beautifully designed bags with thoughtful gifts.

To top it all off, Santa himself made a special appearance at Walworth! A big shoutout to our staff member Paul for donning the red suit and spreading some silly Christmas joy to our guests.

Thank you to everyone who made the holidays brighter for our guests. Whether you donated goods, contributed money or donated your time as a volunteer, your kindness, creativity, and holiday spirit continue to inspire and uplift our community!
