July 2025 Newsletter

Big Thanks to 100 Women Who Care.  Shelters of Saratoga recently received a generous $9,350 donation to provide food and essential supplies for outreach to families living in motels. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for your compassion and commitment to our community!

100 Women Who Care is a volunteer-led group that meets four times a year for one hour to choose a local charity to support. Each member donates $100, creating a powerful collective gift that directly benefits the chosen organization.

This simple, efficient model not only makes a big impact but also helps members discover and support local nonprofits. Every dollar goes straight to the selected charity—no overhead, just giving.

Renovation Update: 14 Walworth Street

Progress continues with key milestones achieved this month. The driveway has been fully paved, and interior work has advanced with plumbing, insulation, and drywall installation. The project remains on track, with estimated completion anticipated later this summer.

A special thank you to everyone who worked on the project, including you, our contributors, the NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA), DAASNY, Olsen Architects, and Munter Enterprises. This project would not be possible without your support!

Donor Spotlight

Sweetening Saratoga and Serving the Community Since 1982

A beloved fixture in Downtown Saratoga Springs, Bread Basket Bakery has been delighting the community with its irresistible baked goods and hearty lunch offerings for over four decades. This charming bakery has won the hearts—and taste buds—of our community.

In 2020, Ed and Lisa Mitzen, co-founders of the Business For Good Foundation, took ownership of Bread Basket Bakery with a mission not just to preserve its cherished recipes, but to transform the business into a force for lasting good. Under their stewardship, 100% of the profits from Bread Basket Bakery are donated to local organizations working to end hunger and food insecurity—including support for Shelters of Saratoga.

Thank you, Bread Basket Bakery, for using the power of business to bake real change!
