Understanding the Importance of the Point-In-Time Count

Accurate data is essential for effective solutions to help people overcome homelessness. The Point-in-Time (PIT) count, mandated by HUD, is a crucial annual initiative that drives federal funding decisions. Recently, our community came together for the PIT Count on January 25th to tally sheltered and unsheltered individuals on a single night, including those in emergency shelters and transitional housing.

Learn more about the PIT count and its importance to SOS on our blog!

Thank you, Waldorf School!

The Waldorf School of Saratoga held their inaugural Teachers vs. Parents Basketball game to benefit Shelters of Saratoga and Franklin Community Center. The winning team's selected charity received the entry fee proceeds, while the runner up took home proceeds from the bake sale, and 50/50. The parents played for SOS and walloped the teachers 59 to 26.

Franklin Community Center (FCC) is a wonderful partner of Shelters of Saratoga. FCC provides clothing and household items to guests of our shelter, and offers food security through the pantry service once they've moved on.

These events are critical educational tools and instill community service among our rising generations. Thank you to the Waldorf School, students, parents, educators and Franklin Community Center for their support and community spirit.
